What to Expect

We know that visiting a church for the first time is often stressful. Between meeting a bunch of people you don’t know and navigating a place you’ve never been, it’s easy to feel uncomfortable. For most people, coming to an unfamiliar church can feel, well…

Scary.

To reduce your anxiety and help get you acquainted, we’ve created a brief glimpse of what you can expect on an average Sunday.

If you would like to see what an average service looks like before attending, recordings of past services can be found on our YouTube or Facebook pages, where we livestream services every week.

At the Door

As soon as you walk in the building, our greeters will be nearby to help you navigate your immediate surroundings and answer any questions you may have. Don’t be shy! We want you to feel comfortable and assured.

Sunday School

At FBC Ripley, we offer a variety of classes for different age groups and stages of life. Before worship service, adults and children alike meet in small groups led by a Sunday School teacher to discuss a weekly lesson. These classes are designed to help you grow in your faith and build community with the people around you. Regardless of your age or background, we can promise there’s a class where you belong.

Care For Your Infants and Toddlers

We provide nursery care for children ages 0-4 during all Sunday services. Children older than 4 can attend Sunday School for their designated age group but are encouraged to join us for worship service.

All nursery staff members have performed background checks and been trained on emergency procedures. Additionally, while services are being held, our security team is constantly monitoring the facility. While you’re here, you can rest easy in the knowledge your child is safe with us.

In Worship

Shortly after Sunday School has ended, our primary worship service begins in the sanctuary with music led by our Praise Team. Our Praise Team consists of multiple singers and a variety of instrumentalists; the music played is typically in contemporary style with a mix of popular songs and hymns. Lyrics are projected on video screens in the sanctuary so everyone can follow along.

Offerings and Donations

Weekly offerings are typically received as the Praise Team begins to play. As a visitor, please know that you are welcome to contribute but are certainly not obligated.

Sermon

After music has concluded, a Christ-centered message is given by our Lead Pastor or a guest speaker. Messages typically follow a series or topic that speak to modern day issues or problems we face everyday.

Most services conclude with an invitation, a time where people can respond to the Lord or come to a pastor for prayer. After each service, our pastors or another member of our staff will always available to meet or speak with you.

Come Visit Us!

And… That’s it! Not so scary, is it?

Now that you know what we’re like, we hope you’ll join us and see for yourself. We think we’ve got a good thing going on, and we’d love for you to be a part of it!
